Get Out The Vote

CCA’s civic engagement program is structured to strengthen, deepen and expand our collective reach in targeted communities in order to ensure an inclusive voting system. The program at its core is about our community, partners and their allies collectively working to engage in the electoral and legislative process without barriers, which will fundamentally strengthen communities.

Our Civic Engagement program consists of:

Indirect Relational Voter Turnout (IRVT) will efficiently run a relational voter turnout program at scale by drawing on the influence of indirect relationships in the Black community to increase the turnout of Black voters.

Traditional GOTV (TGOTV) will leverage the power of the CC’s brand by engaging non-partisan voter education TGOTV activities such as phone banking, text messaging, canvassing, and other voter education and mobilization activities.

Mass and Continuous Communications (M&CC) will strategically place voter education and mobilization messaging.

In 2024, CCA helped ACE (Action Climate Emergency) with voter registration where we registered over 2,000 individuals in NC to vote.  We partnered with NC Black Alliance to recruit volunteers for canvassing where we knocked 12,000+ African American doors in Cabarrus County.

We made over 3,000 phone calls with Black Voters Matter locally and statewide and supported a meet the candidates rally, 2 barbershops and ballots, 4 brunch and ballots, a souls/stroll to the polls, and 4 DJ/party at the polls. We volunteered as poll greeters and poll protection at polling sites multiple days during early voting.
